“This is the biggest and boldest Volkswagen we have ever built in the United States, delivering the distinctive design and craftsmanship we’re known for, now with room for seven,” said Hinrich J. Woebcken, CEO of the North American Region, Volkswagen. “The Atlas marks a brand new journey for Volkswagen to enter into the heart of the American market.” -VW USA
The quote above from VW USA is nothing short of true. Volkswagen hit the spot with the highly-anticipated introduction of their new 3-row SUV. Americans love SUVs. The 2018 Atlas is the first VW to feature a third row, and boy is it massive. About the size of the Audi Q7, the Atlas comes in at about half the cost but doesn’t skimp on features.
The new flagship SUV arrived in May and it has been flying off the shelves since then. As the newest and biggest member of the Volkswagen lineup, the Atlas offers family-ready passenger and cargo volume, as well as everyday usability and utility. It is available in five trim levels—S, SE, SE w/Technology, SEL and SEL Premium. The SUV also marks the debut of Volkswagen’s new “Digital Cockpit,” similar to Audi’s Virtual Cockpit (although its exclusive to Atlas SEL Premium). The Digital Cockpit system presents drivers with a fully-digital and customizable instrument cluster using a 12.3-inch TFT display.
Now, we won’t delve too far into the specifics of the Atlas’s features, but you can read about that here.
The next part is really why you’re here.
VW Of Naples had an Atlas lying around… And we had a pristine set of 21″ Vossen VFS2s lying around our department so…
You know what comes next.
In what we’re pretty sure is the first 2018 Atlas on Vossen wheels, we present to you this Deep Black Pearl SUV rocking some silver shoes. And we dig it.
